Vivatress was proud to participate in the 33rd Annual Harlem Juneteenth Parade, New York City’s oldest and longest-running Juneteenth event joining thousands of New Yorkers in celebrating Black history, culture, joy, and community. The annual event honors Juneteenth while recognizing the achievements, creativity, and lasting contributions of Black Americans.
Representing Vivatress at the parade was Miss New Hampshire USA 2025, MonaLesa Brackett. A Brooklyn native, MonaLesa made history as the first hijab-wearing woman to compete at Miss USA. Beyond the pageant stage, she is an educator, entrepreneur, public speaker, television producer, and licensed New York real estate professional. Her commitment to empowering others while challenging stereotypes surrounding identity, beauty, and inclusivity reflects values that deeply resonate with the Vivatress community.
The celebration took place in Harlem, a neighborhood that has long stood as a cultural heart of Black America. During the Great Migration, Harlem became home to thousands of Black families seeking new opportunities, ultimately giving rise to the Harlem Renaissance, a transformative movement that shaped Black art, literature, music, and culture while inspiring generations of creators, leaders, and changemakers.
More than 2,000 attendees gathered to celebrate, connect, and strengthen community ties throughout the day. An incredible team of stylists, models, and artists represented Vivace by Kiss, including winning stylists from the previous HEBS competition, who created breathtaking fantasy braided looks showcased on models aboard the Vivace by Kiss parade float.
Throughout the event, Vivatress proudly showcased its Safe for Scalp & Skin braiding hair through interactive product displays, giveaways, and educational conversations. Visitors learned about the importance of scalp health, the benefits of hypoallergenic braiding hair, and recommended Vivatress product combinations designed to help create beautiful, comfortable protective styles.
Events like the Harlem Juneteenth Parade remind us that protective styling is more than beauty, it's a celebration of culture, creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Vivatress is honored to support the communities we serve while continuing our mission to provide braiding hair that helps people look and feel their best.
